Natural/Man-made Hazards
MDA has developed ArcGIS models that synthesize the relationship of regional population increase, the value of sustaining agriculture and natural hazards that threaten them.

Population increase and migration into areas under threat of natural hazards is a global concern. Earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, cyclonic storms and floods endanger increasing populations and their sustaining agriculture.
The GIS includes ArcInfo scripted models, map databases, statistics, cartographic products and ArcView projects for a number of regions including all of Africa, Asia, and the Near East.
MDA has developed additional GIS models to predict:
- Desertification
- Mass Wasting/Landslide
- Fire Hazard
- Oil Spill Hazard
- Disaster Impact on Transportation Capacity
