Population Forecasting
MDA has developed ArcGIS models to forecast and map future settlement population density. The models also map population density change over time, identifying patterns of increase and decrease.
The impact on population patterns of changing landscapes, transportation and electricity infrastructure, and natural hazards can be assessed using MDA's forecast models. Likewise, future population map data bases can serve as inputs to model future population impact on landscapes, such as ecosystems, economies, agriculture, and infrastructure.
