AFFIRMATIVE ACTION INFORMATION MDA Federal Inc. is required by the Federal Government to report the following information about our applicants. This information will only be used for Affirmative Action recording purposes. It is not part of your official application and will in no way affect your status as an applicant or employee, either now or in the future. Your respones are voluntary and will remain confidential.

Veteran Definitions:

"Vietnam Era Veteran" means a person who has served more than 180 days of active duty, and part of which was between August 5 1964 and May 17, 1975 or who served less than 180 days, any part of which was between the above dates. If the person was discharged for a service-connected disability.

"Special Disabled Veteran" means a person entitled to disability compensation under laws administered by the Veterans Administration for disability, rated at 30 percent or more, or a person whose discharge or release from active duty was for a disability incurred or aggravated in the line of duty.

"Newly Separated Veteran" means a veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service during the one-year period beginning on the date of such veterans discharge or release from active duty.

"Other Protected Veteran" means a veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service during a war or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized.

"Disabled Individual" means any person who (1) has a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more of such person’s major life activities (2) has a record or such impairment or (3) is regarded as having such an impairment. For purposes of this part, a disabled individual is substantially limited if he or she is likely to experience difficulty in securing, retaining, or advancing in employment because of a handicap.

Ethnicity Definitions:


Hispanic or Latino - A person of Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South, or Central America, or other Spanish culture or origin regardless of race.
White - A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, The Middle East, or North Africa.
Black or African American - A person having origins in any of the black racial groups of Africa.
Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander - A person having origins in any of the peoples of Hawaii, Guam, Samoa, or other Pacific Islands
Asian - A person having origins in any of the original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia, or the Indian Subcontinent, including, Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippine Islands, Thailand, and Viatnam
American Indian or Alaska Native - A person having origins in any of the original peoples of North, Central, and South America, and who maintain tribal affiliation or community attachment.
Two or More Races - All persons who identify with more than one of the above races.
