MDA geologists pioneered remote sensing for petroleum, mineral and groundwater exploration. We have completed geologic interpretations around the world, with projects ranging from regional tectonic syntheses to detailed prospect analysis.

Oil & Gas Industry

MDA's services for the oil and gas industry range from specific assessment tasks to integrated regional studies and include: fracture analysis, hydrocarbon indications, geologic interpretation and mapping, and special methods for hard-to-assess areas.

Water Exploration

Water resource management involves making wise decisions based on a sound understanding of a region's hydrogeology, hydrology, and ecology. Groundwater exploration takes these principles a step further by identifying areas most likely to yield successful new wells.

Mineral Exploration

MDA's approach to geologic analysis integrates field observations and measurements, remotely sensed data, conventional geologic and geophysical techniques and leading-edge geologic theory. This approach permits a synthesis of regional geology and basin analysis and leads to the understanding and selection of exploration targets.

Engineering Support

MDA's environmental and engineering studies include a wide range of studies and projects. From flood forecasting and flood mitigation to geologic interpretation and mapping, to land use/GIS applications. Example projects include geologic hazard assessments due to reservoir construction, as well as emergency response and pipeline/road planning.
