Engineering Support

MDA's environmental and engineering studies include a wide range of studies and projects. From flood forecasting and flood mitigation to geologic interpretation and mapping, to land use/GIS applications. Example projects include geologic hazard assessments due to reservoir construction, as well as emergency response and pipeline/road planning.

Geologic Interpretation & Mapping

Structural and lithologic mapping forms the heart of MDA's geologic practice - with hundreds of geologic interpretations. MDA pioneered the concept of Virtual Field Trips in the late 1980's with the development of a 3-D mapping technology

Land Use/Land Cover

MDA offers the world's first off-the-shelf medium resolution land cover database: EarthSat GeoCover LC. MDA provides land cover mapping of the Alaska National Parks and perennial cover inventories to Ducks Unlimited.

Flooding

The Floodwatch program encompasses MDA's full array of flood response, planning and mitigation tools and products. The service includes such products as online flood forecast maps, flood impact assessment, floodplain management tools, and watershed modeling systems.
