Oil & Gas Industry
Up one levelMDA's services for the oil and gas industry range from specific assessment tasks to integrated regional studies and include: fracture analysis, hydrocarbon indications, geologic interpretation and mapping, and special methods for hard-to-assess areas.
- Geologic Interpretation
- Structural and lithologic mapping forms the heart of MDA's geologic practice, and have completed hundreds of geologic interpretations. This broad-based experience enables us to understand the tectonic framework of any area in the world, both onshore and offshore.
- Hydrocarbon Indications
- Seeps are direct evidence of hydrocarbon occurrences, and are associated with many major discoveries. Seeps provide significant targets for more intensive exploration efforts.
- Fracture Analysis
- MDA's approach is useful for identifying new exploration targets, extending producing trends, choosing optimal location for development wells, and selecting the orientation of horizontal well bores.
- Special Methods
- MDA's remote sensing tools can be used to evaluate remote or difficult access areas. MDA's QRVV methodology is particularly effective with radar satellite imagery.
- Integrated Studies
- MDA synthesizes the tectonic, dispositional and structural history, integrate a wide array of geologic, geophysical and geochemical data and provide a context for petroleum exploration.
