DynaCAST - Climate Analog Tool

DynaCAST, is an interactive climate analog tool that is excellent for historical analyses, forecasting, and presentations by meteorologists, analysts, and traders. DynaCAST also finds the best analogs for current NAO, QBO, ENSO 3.4, and PDO setups to aid in long term forecasting. There is even an MJO tool that allows the user to see what each of the phases mean for North American weather. You can easily input your own analog years to produce forecast maps showing temperature (high, low, average, HDD/CDD) and precipitation. Up to 10 analog years may be included with optional weighting for each. Select from 10, 30, or 50 year normals.

Sunday Update

This 1-page brief Sunday afternoon update offers the earliest look at the next week's weather outlooks. The product is released at 3pm ET each Sunday afternoon and offers the latest 6-10 day and 11-15 day forecasts, based on the most recent analyses and model guidance. Confidence and text descriptions of risk factors are also included.

LongView Sample - US

A detailed meteorologist discussion that focuses on the next 6 months of weather. This weekly product also includes a 15-30 day forecast along with any changes that might be needed for the upcoming season's forecast. Both North American and European versions are available. ECMWF Weekly Climate Outlooks

Extended range forecast issued by the ECMWF office that provides temperature outlooks out past 30 days. Issued once a week on Thursdays. Great tool for getting an early jump on the +15 day period that the regular global models miss. Forecasts for the entire Northern Hemisphere.

Monthly forecast for the next 7 months issued by the ECMWF office. One of the few, if not only, dynamical model that forecasts out to the seasonal range. Issued once a month on the 15th of the month. All major regions of the world are available.

LongCAST Sample

This two-tier MDA EarthSat Weather product provides forecast information for the upcoming 12-months. The LongCAST/CityCAST Section is based on an objective analysis, this product finds the closest analog years to the current situation in the Tropical Pacific (El Nino correlations) and then uses those analogs to create 12-month forward forecasts. This analysis includes individual city forecasts, assessments of confidence, and a weekly discussion. Updates weekly!
