MDA extends surveillance service to Canadian Forces in Afghanistan
Richmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that it has signed a contract amendment with Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC). Under this amendment Canada exercised its first option to extend by six months the operation of MDA’s long endurance Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) surveillance solution currently supporting the Canadian Forces in Afghanistan. The timeframe for this extension is January through June 2011.
