MDA to provide topographic information to Saudi Arabia

Richmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA),
a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that it
has been awarded a service contract worth over $8M (US) to provide
geographic information to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of
Municipal and Rural Affairs (MOMRA) over the next two to three years.
This Project is included within a larger scope of mapping projects
covering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
MDA/Triathlon will supply digital maps for cities and villages in the
Al Jauf Region of Saudi Arabia. This information will support advanced
city planning activities for utilities and municipal services, GIS
applications, and Cadastral Registration as part of a Kingdom-wide
spatial database. The spatial database will also support additional
development projects being conducted by other government agencies of
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
